The symbal of pharmacy : Mercer University's College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Class of 2010 receive their white coats at the College's annual White Coat Ceremony on Aug. 17, they will see newly-designed logo patches to reflect the College's new name. Approximately 570 pharmacy students will be wearing the logos on their coats in more than 175 locations in the metro Atlanta area as they participate in their practice experiences.

The 103-year-old pharmacy school had its name officially changed from Southern School of Pharmacy on July 1, 2006. The College's new physician assistant program – slated to begin in fall 2007 – is one of the reasons for the name change.

Kilmer"s opera House of pharmacy:

I mentioned Scientific Director Fred Kilmer’s Opera House Pharmacy, which was “very likely” on the on the corner of George and Albany Streets. Here’s direct confirmation that his pharmacy was in fact on that corner, which is the corner of George and Albany that is across Albany Street from the 410 George Street Building. Kilmer’s pharmacy was on the ground floor of the old Victorian-style Masonic Hall, whose main tenant was the New Brunswick Opera House. This photo, which is reproduced.

Behind the Design Scenes: There are some of the logos featured in our gallery that remain staff faves. A brand development project that just went 'right'. Or perhaps a creative proces where the client accepted the designer consultation, resulting in a non-traditional approach to a particular image. There are even those rare projects where everything seems to fall into place, almost by accident, and what could have been a middle of the road project turns into a fairly dynamic one.

During the 2006 Legislative Session, Senate Bill 371 was passed, requiring Pharmacy Technicians to be registered in Maryland. This legislation requires all non-registered personnel currently working behind the counter in the pharmacy area to be registered.

Final Regulations for the Pharmacy Technician Registration were adopted January 28, 2008. Pharmacy technician candidates and pharmacy students may obtain applications below.

Besides dispensing prescriptions, community pharmacists also provide the general public with free professional advice and assistance on all aspects of heath care and education.
